The NOLA Vigil for the Unhoused will hold its annual event memorializing individuals who died unhoused in 2022. The memorial and procession will be held on Sunday, January 29th at 3 pm at Jackson Square. If you are able to volunteer for this event (painting signs, gathering supplies, driving, and/or fundraising) please contact NolaVigilForUnhoused@gmail.com.

The New Year often brings up reflection and planning. This year, why not incorporate your plan of how you will acknowledge or honor significant dates into your intentions and resolutions?

Mourning involves acknowledging losses by providing space to feel. It doesn’t have to be big… Baking a cake on a birthday, calling a friend who shared the love of the deceased, making a donation to an organization they loved, or sitting quietly in a beautiful space.

Feeling and doing, rather than suppressing and ignoring, incorporates your grief into your life. While we think we may not be paying attention, our body knows - irritability, anxiety, and dread can creep in.

This year, think about those significant dates and make a plan to hold space for your grief.
